Video games where the goal is to exercise are not new, but Nintendo Wii Fit is by far the most advanced on this market. And it also takes care of fun times with Hula Hoop, snowboarding and tightrope. The Balance Board is a state of the art tool which tracks your center of gravity and many people have reported that their balance improved a lot after a few weeks of exercise on the Balance Board.

You get Wii Fit on one disc and with it comes the Balancing Board, which is not that light at 8 pounds(4kg). The Balance Board needs four AA batteries to function which are included when purchasing Wii Fit. Those are supposed to keep you occupied with Wii Fit for around 60 hourse before you need to exchange them. And if you want to check their status you can do that simply by hitting the Home button on your Wiimote and check the P4 header where the battery status will be displayed.

The board is equiped with four feet at the bottom which are balance sensors. They fit most surfaces but if you have a carpet underneath it you can also attach the feet extensions. Nintendo has also taken care of the storing of the board by equipping it with rubber bumpers on the outside corners so you can stand the board up or on its side for storage. The balance board has a limitation of 330 pounds for those who need this info. If you are over that limit, better to get to a real gym because this excercise will not help that much.

When you do your exercising on Nintendo Wii Fit make sure that you have a lot of space around the board for all your limbs to swing freely. Did you ever dropped your Wiimote while playing tennis? Well here the danger is that you will kick your TV or lamp over while doing the Warrior Pose.

There is a simple way to get started with Wii Fit. The console asks you to update your Wii so it can work with Wii Fit. The update comes from the disc and does not take more then 20 seconds. Then you have to pair hte board and the console. You do that by opening the boards battery compartment and the consoles SD slot and press the Sync buttons on both. This is almost always immediately and gets indicated by the blue LED on the boards power button. Wii can only support one single board so multiplayer gaming is not an option.

Then you are prompted to enter some personal info like height, weight.. So the Wii Fit calculates your body mass index also known as BMI. After that some basic tests are performed to determine your body control. (It asked a friend of mine if he trips when he walks. )

Based on the tests and your data the Nintendo Wii Fit calculates your “Wii Fit age” and then it asks you to set a goal for the next 2 weeks. You can view the date when you started and your progress on a large calendar. You can also see your

That concludes the first part of our review and now you are ready to get started with Nintendo Wii Fit. More about this marble of technology is comming soon to our site so be sure to check back often!
